Merrynewon Launches Silicone-Base Aluminium Foam Pump Bottle, Redesigning the Bathroom Dispenser from the Bottom Up

Merrynewon, a manufacturer of aluminium and metal packaging for personal care, today introduced its aluminium foam pump bottle with a silicone base pad. The product is designed for hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner applications in the 30–1000ml range, and is offered with custom colours and printed logos for private-label and hotel amenity programmes. The launch comes as the global Metal Cans market — valued at approximately USD 62.4 billion in 2024 — is projected to reach USD 92.7 billion by 2030 [Research and Markets, December 2025].

Two structural problems most pump bottles don't solve

A bathroom dispenser sits in the wettest, most friction-heavy spot in a home or hotel room. Two consequences follow, and they are usually left unaddressed:

• Water at the base. Pump bottles rest flat on the vanity, so the bottom sits in residual water after every use — the area that is hardest to dry and the first to show wear.
• Friction against the surface. Every lift and set-down drags the base across ceramic, stone, or acrylic — scuffing both the bottle and, over time, the vanity itself.

A three-part structure, reworked from the bottom

The new bottle separates the problem into three functional layers:

1. Aluminium body. Aluminium forms a dense, self-renewing oxide layer on its surface, so — unlike steel or iron — it does not rust. The body is lightweight, which matters for shipping weight and for refill handling.
2. Foam pump head. A foam pump dispenses pre-aerated lather rather than liquid, changing how much product is used per pump and how the formula feels on skin.
3. Silicone base pad. A silicone pad is fitted at the bottom of the bottle. It prevents friction scuffing against the vanity surface, and it separates the aluminium base from standing water rather than letting the two sit in contact.

Aluminium, and why the timing matters

The launch extends Merrynewon's aluminium packaging portfolio, which already covers bottles, cans, tubes, and tins. Aluminium's structural advantage is circularity: it is infinitely recyclable without loss of quality, and it contains no intentionally added PFAS — two properties that matter as the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR, EU 2025/40) moves through its implementation timeline, including the PFAS restriction on food-contact packaging that took effect on 12 August 2026.

Sizes, channels, and customization

The bottle is available from 30ml to 1000ml. Customization covers stickers and labels, screen printing, spray painting, electroplating, and offset printing. Primary channels are hair and body care brands, personal care brands, and hotels, including private-label and OEM programmes.

Hyde, the product manager,  said "Most bathroom dispensers fail at the part nobody looks at — the bottom. The silicone base is a small structural change, but it changes how the bottle behaves in actual use: it protects the surface it stands on and keeps the base out of the water it sits in."
